I was born and raised in New Jersey. I went to school for Computer Information Systems and was very satisfied with my occupation. When I needed to buy my first home, everything seemed so expensive. I started doing research on how to buy your first home at a reasonable price and stumbled upon real estate investing. Once I got started looking into real estate, I’ve been hooked. I especially enjoy rehabbing houses. Yes, there are risks involved, a lot of hard work and sometimes “headaches” but I genially enjoy flipping houses.
I created this Blog because I would like to share my real estate investing experiences and hope to hear about others who are investing. When I was doing my research on the internet, there wasn’t as many networking and blogging sites around that shared their experiences as an investor. It can be very intimidating with all the investing information being passed around but I hope to be able to clearly share my experiences.
My first real estate purchase was a HUD cape cod home. It was such a thrilling purchase because it didn’t come easy. Prior to finally buying my first home, I’ve been door knocking, putting offers on multiple homes, attended sheriff sales and so on. It really took time to get that property and it was the beginning of my lesson on patience. If you ever purchased a HUD home, you know there is a bidding process. Well that process was also a hurdle because you really don’t know what to bid to assure you would get the property and you usually only have one shot at it. Needless to say, I got the property and lived in it after fixing it up. The house was sold 2 years later at a profit. That was my very first experience with “rehabbing” even though it wasn’t in the truest sense of the word. The plan really is not to live in the house but to control it and flip it.
